So this week I want to chat a little but about the old saying “measure twice, cut once”. I will be the first to admit it; my little patches did not come together as perfectly as I would have hoped for. Yes, it is my first quilt, but there is a reason we makes mistakes- to learn from them.

So here it is- wow, I was really off here. Yes, I made some mistakes; do I give up and never quilt again? No! Practice and patience are noble qualities of a quilter.
So, I found the best way to help camouflage my mistakes and add some retro flair to my quilt- knotted multicolored floss! On second thought, it’s really cute. I remember my parents were given a quilt as a wedding present in the seventies, it was finished just like this- it brings back great memories of snuggling in bed as a little kid watching Punky Brewster and Charles In Charge (Scott Baio was a hunk in the day!).
So It seems like forever that I have been working on this but I think that next week will be the end. Do you have any first time horror stores from a craft-from-the-past? Did you start over or embrace it's flaws?
Happy Slicing!
