2012 has come and went with so many different craft trends. In 2012 chevron, mustache and owl patterns adorned all of our fabrics, we loved our mini indoor terrarium and used mason jars for just about everything. In 2012 granny squares and patchwork was hip again, and we enjoyed all of our favorite baked goods on sticks. I think that Cindy and I were both taken by the resurgence of modern embroidery by such artists as Jenny Hart. What was your favorite craft trend of 2012?
I think there was a renewed interest in English Paper Piecing. I personally started a Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt sewing all the hexes by hand. Some of my sewing buddies were also doing the same thing. Hand sewing seemed to have somewhat of a comeback as I also noticed many sewers starting hand needle turned applique that had never tried that before. The Slice has such wonderful designs that can be used in the applique or to cut out the paper pieces. I've introduced this to all members of my sewing/quilting group.
