I love fabric hunting, searching online and at my local stores for the perfect fabric for my projects. It's the thrill of the hunt that makes the unique finds that much more special. Then the day comes when you have to cut your cherished fabric...
Once my little project is done I always look on the floor and around my desk at all of the little scraps. I pick and choose every scrap ever so carefully and place them in my overflowing retro candy jar. Every salvage has a story or reminds me of a trip I was on or the people I was with when I picked them up. I have found so many different scrap projects but I would like to know what you like to do with your scraps? Have you used your larger ones with your Slice? Have you ever made a scrap quilt?
Leave us a comment with your favorite scrap project for a chance to win a.. (drum roll please) Slice Scrap Crafting gift bag!
My 95 year old mother was thrilled when I presented her with a jacket (sweatshirt used as base) made entirely from my Pastor Father's old neckties. He has been gone from us for 10 years. Even my brother got into the game of "Oh, I remember that tie!" I cut the objects out using shapes of all kinds and adding hearts, strips, jagged pieces and all kinds of brick brack when finished. You put the pieces, 5 at a time, face down in a large box. Spray lightly with adhesive and place on opened up sweatshirt. Zigzag around each piece until entire jacket is covered. Then you sew up the seams and add the binding.

I just received my new slice yesterday and I've only used it with paper so far but I have scraps of Christmas fabric leftover from placemats that I made this year. I can't wait to see my slice go to work on my scraps maybe I have enough to cut some Christmas trees and make a decorated dish towel! Linda

I am a quilter. Don't have a slice yet. My favorite project with the smaller scraps is to make a miniature quilt. Many of the pieces in the picture would make a great table/floor quilt for kids to play a seek and find game. I remember where the fabrics came from and the finished projects hold so many memories.

I have not gathered as many scraps, but I can remember a quilt that my grandmother had made that she had used some of her old house dresses, etc., for - I always wanted to use that quilt whenever I would visit. Such fond memories.
