The holiday season is upon us and it’s time to gather with family and friends to enjoy the season of giving! How about something a little different this year? It is never fun to spend an entire day cruising the mall hoping to find the perfect gift, which is why this year I say” let’s Slice up the holidays!” It’s so easy to create simple, handmade and unique presents for the entire family. I came up with this gift idea for one of my dear friends who loves her little Chihuahua.
For this project I used the super cute princess pattern pack from our friends at ADORNit (www.adornit.com)
Using the Paws and Claws card I cut out my lovely Chihuahuas using a thicker grey felt. For a little added touch I used a bit of glimmer fabric paint on my doggy.
From my tried and true Applique Basics card, I cut out the scalloped background as well as ten 4 inch square blocks for the border at the bottom of the scarf.
To create it I simply sewed together two separate sets-each with five different blocks. This number will vary depending on the width of your scarf. I then folded my sewn blocks in half and sewed it directly onto the bottom of my scarf. To cover up my raw edge I added a small strip of bias tape. The last step was to adhere my little doggies to the scarf.
It is so simple to dress up bargain basement finds such as mittens, tea towels, slippers and socks into fab, low-effort gifts this holiday season with the Slice.
