Make-It Monday :: Christmas Banner

It's that time again, the holidays are in full swing and if you're not feeling it, well, maybe you should count yourself lucky! I made this banner a little while ago and it's been hanging in my house and everytime I walk into the door, I see it and instantly the lyrics pop into my head. Fortunately they are peaceful non-earworm type lyrics and I don't mind. But it's a great idea for a banner and so super simple to do. The first thing you'll need to do is spray your mat. Give it a nice good, even spray of Repositionable Spray Adhesive. I used 35% Wool felt and the quality is such that it's stiff enough to not need fusible webbing or InvisiCut. If you're using an acrylic or polyester felt, you'll probably need some sort of stabilizer. It's probably best to try a small portion of your felt first to see how it goes.

I cut out all my letters from red and green felt. Then, using a thicker coat thread or an embroidery floss, I threaded needle through the top of each letter. Hang your banner wherever you desire! Oh, if some of the letters sag, I reinforced them with tape on the backside.
