A little bit ago, I offered to do the place settings at our family Thanksgiving table. I wanted to do something personal and memorable. I searched all over Pinterest for an idea. It came to me all on my own last night as I was thinking up something to do for today's Make-It Monday - personalized napkins! People sometimes have place cards at Thanksgiving and they always have napkins, why not combine the two?
It was pretty simple to do. Find out how after the jump.
If you're going to create something like I did, you'll need the following things:
For 1 napkin:
1/3 yd cotton fabric (for letters - this will produce about 3 - 12" x 12" squares of fabric. Depending on how large your family is or how long their names are, this might be enough).
5/8 yd cotton fabric (this will make 2 napkins).
Cut 1 - 20" x 20" square of fabric.
Fold over 1/4" and iron all around the edges. Fold over again another 1/4" and hem.
Once you've hemmed your napkin, fold it the way you would like to fold it at your table setting. Then cut our your letters with the contrasting fabric. I used the Knick Knack card and cut the letters out at 2".
Iron the letters onto the napkin where you would like them to stay. Satin or blind stitch around the edges of the letters.
Display! Your friends and family will definitely be impressed and will love using these this Thankgiving and for many more Thanksgivings to come.
The personalized napkins are very nice...however, I love all the coordinated sets at "The Party Store" Also, I can't find the winner of the Friday Freebie-Vintage Seasons. Marilyn in San Antonio, TX
