Sometimes it becomes necessary to home the Slice. This means that somehow, the Slice has gotten off the main track. Sometimes this happens from regular use, sometimes if the machine cut something a little too ambitious for it's blade. Whatever happened to cause it to jump track, homing the machine is simple and easy to do. Here is an exaggerated view of what a Slice that needs to be homed looks like:
Notice how the rotary blade is not perpendicular to the machine. This is a good indication that it needs to be homed. To home your machine, follow the instructions after the jump.
You will see a screen that has an image of a home on it. Press select. You will hear a small buzzing and your blade will move into home position. If your machine is already in home position the blade will not move. The picture on the right demonstrates what a homed machine looks like. See how it is perpendicular to the outside box?
Press the menu key to exit out of the settings section. One you've returned to the home screen, press the right single arrow and highlight the design card. You may once again return to your project!
I usually "Home" my blade each time I put a design card into my Slice. Is that necessary or harmful to my Slice.

Please help! Mine is stuck in the corner, and will not home either. It makes a loud noise like it is trying to move, but is stuck. Thanks!

Hi,
Do the pink blades fit my green Slice Fabrique?

@Geri, I think homing it each time you put a design card into the Slice will not hurt it at all.
Elizabeth, Peter & Betty, I think the best thing that you should do is call customer service: 877-797-5423 and have them help you through any problems you may have.
Beryl, yes. I think they are a little shorter than the green Fabrique blades, but only by like a half a millimeter or something. Not by too much.
